Sat Post 1: Yay! Success! Banana Cinnamon Tart!
Out of curiosity,

2. A layer cake having cream, custard, or jelly filling.
tart 1 Noun
1. a pastry case, often having no top crust, with a sweet filling, such as jam or custard
2. Chiefly US a small open pie with a fruit filling [Old French tarte]
Courtesy TFDMy "BanaCin"/ "Cinnana" Tart:
Same recipe for pastry case, larger proportions...
This time my almonds were properly toasted, no burning involved! :)

Pastry...

Fresh from the oven...

I don't really like bananas but was prompted by the blackening few hanging in my kitchen... Didn't use a recipe - I just cobbled some steps from the peach recipe and threw in ingredients as I liked... Brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, milk and egg was involved... and cornstarch for thickening...
After icing:

And serve with chocolate ice-cream on the side...

Not a bad attempt for all my guesswork... a tad starchy which is what the ice-cream is for... adding more cinnamon next time... perhaps chocolate chips inside the batter as well...

Im...
Exams are imminent...
Study is imperative...
my immoderations need to be imbargoed...
I'm poorly equipped to do so...
I need to be cut off but then I won't have access to online sources...
If I do have connection, I will invariably sneak a peek...
This makes for an imbroglio of a situation...
I'm being immensely impractical...
this immaturity is impossible... haiz...
i'm crazy i know..... this is such a stupid -imbecilic- filler post...

Spiders!!!... Ick....
'Will you walk into my parlor?' said the Spider to the Fly.It's the swarming little ones that get me...
I don't mind the big 'un cuz you can get rid of one big thing but you can't get every one o' them babies esp when they can
hide - you know, being so small...

Caught one big mother of a spider, last middle-of-the-night with my dad...
Went downstairs to the kitchen just a couple of hours later
and there was a swarm in the box...
We'd already guessed it had the egg sac with it tho...
you see the button thingy?
From afar, thought it was clutching a mentos or a biscuit at first...
Random information:
The poem "The Spider and The Fly", written by Mary Howitt, is a children's apologue , cautioning them not to be blinded by flattery. The opening line is often misquoted in a variant of part of the line, rather than the exact words.
It can be used to
- convey irony towards an occurrence after the fact, to mean that the victim of misfortune either contributed to the situation without knowledge or should have realised the trap/drawbacks.
- express sarcasm towards an event or deed that is not likely to occur, demonstrating the speaker's cognizance/suspicion of hidden motives
- as a warning or observation regarding an event or deed that carries a hidden threat

~~~updating...~~~
lazy to write stuff lately....saw the class blog and found out what chu put on my blog link....
been reading
mr miyagi's blog after the straits times article
feel obligated to put in some bombastic words so here goes:
[ the word of the day is:
esprit d'escalier \es-PREE des-cah-lee-É\, n.
french. (duh.) not directly translatable, but "esprit d'escalier" means roughly "wit of the staircase." big help, right? the french use "esprit d'escalier" to refer to the regret one feels after barely missing an opportunity to dish out a perfect comeback. quip-challenged people (e.g. me) know all about this phenomenon. ]
