Finally fulfilled my wish - Choux cream puffs: Success!!

Made Choux pastry for cream puffs and eclairs today.
(lumpy dough from first boil, totally smooths out with eggs added. Incredible!)

1st batch: 9 Large and swirl-piped.
Flat. Too spread out. But still hollow enough to fill out by spooning custard in.

2nd batch: 12 Profiteroles (Bite-sized). Compact piping
[ - piped direct at one spot and allowed to slowly spread by swelling out. ]
Perfect and round. Best choice.

3rd batch: 7x4 mini-eclairs
Piped too long and thin... Not ideal for filling with custard. Adequate rise.
Next time must pipe and hold to swell.

Instant Bird's custard - needs more sugar and cornstarch.
Chocolate Glaze from Van Houten's semi-sweet baking chocolate (9 squares), melted + 1 Tbs butter, mixed well. Hardens when chilled. Working Ratio.

PMn visited to make the puffs tgt. Met at 10+am walking to my house from Ens and brought strawberries. met with Ch and Clr, Prns and Crmy... haha....

Yay! Sentosa Choice Package...

It's no secret to those who know me that I'm not that quick on the uptake.

Thus, it only just hit me when I took my shower:
"Dang it! No wonder the bloody air-con didn't make a spot of difference.
MisTY, I think yer feeling warm cuz-a da sunburn;
not just cause ya'll hot and sticky from all that extra walking..."
eheheh....*blinks sheepishly*

40 cash is a bit more than I'm usually willing to shell out upfront for an outing
- thass 'bout twice my ideal limit - but I think it was well spent.
We certainly made the most of it, as my creaking ankles can testify.

Just to compare, I wanna see how much it'd be w/o the package:

Cable Car (1-way): $11.90
Total: $59.90

Waaa...Not too bad... I think we had the most fun exploring tunnels and taking pictures at Siloso (with sepia tone for "aged authenticity"). Cheap as its admission is and considering the fun we had - if I were recommending, I'd say take that separate and devote a whole day to it...

Highlights:
-Sighting eagles and monkeys at Fort Siloso (and DH's peacock at Siloso Beach...)
-Tempinus cascade and a mossy dragon on Nature Walk/Dragon Teeth trail...
-Lunch at SubWay: Peanut Butter Cookies RAWK!
-Please, please, please watch your step in the Butterfly Park... (T.T)
-Impromptu lecture on pollution and genetic defects in insects

Yay!!! Kudos to everyone! 03s204 gathering: Super Success!!!

A record number of 16 attendees turned up at the 03s204 class gathering on the 6th of February, a friday night. The venue was provided by our Brother Bear, WJ, in Pasir ris. The event was a rousing success, with good food, good cooks and an astounding supply of no less than five desserts, not counting the professionally roasted marshmallows. Some of our long lost members were reunited from across the globe and across our tiny island. There was much catching up and discussion of future plans among the attendees. During this time, a secret mission regarding a birthday had been planned and was carried out successfully.

Surprisingly, there was a tiny altercation in the midst of this auspicious occasion. A member of the group was taken to task for irresponsible and reckless behaviour. Advice was dispensed and duly acknowledged by the unnamed offender.

As the group broke up late into the night and various members said their farewells, five of the group were left behind to consider their means of transport. Together with WJ and a fellow classmate indigenous to the area, it was then decided that parting was premature and further entertainment was proposed. The group of 7 then headed to the nearby theatre to watch a Curious Case well into the early morning. After extended and tearful goodbyes, they parted ways on foot and by cab. With the conclusion of this momentous occasion, it was shown that not all Class Gatherings were doomed to cancellation by poor attendance. Future get-togethers have been promised and it is to be hoped that the swelling of our ranks will continue to occur.
